Apartment on Mississippi River in New Orleans (Algiers To Rent in New Orleans, Louisiana

The minimum amount of time this property can be rented is on a monthly basis from the 1st to  the last day of the month.  The fully furnished apartment consists of two rooms (bedroom/living room, kitchen, bathroom with tub, small back porch entry way) and is available for  two people only.  The apartment is located on the Mississippi River in New Orleans (Algiers/West Bank) at 1611 Patterson Drive, 70114, tel. .  At time of arrival (12 noon) tenant and landlady must sign standard month lease which is required for legal and insurance purposes.
Sit on the swing on the wide front porch and watch the mighty ships cruise by as the seagulls and pelicans fly.    Grocery store with great take out department is a block and one half  down the street; bus stop is across the street; and  16 blocks down Patterson Drive  the  ferry boat departs twice an hour from Algiers Point to Canal Street and the French Quarter. Check out the location on Google Maps.   Bicycles can be rented from local vendor on monthly basis.  At time of reservation confirmation, reserve bicycles, and they will be here at your arrival. Lighted bicycle paths line the levees of the Mississippi River.  Private apartment entrance is at back of 150 year old cypress double shotgun house with 14 foot ceilings.  Back yard is occupied by all year round vegetable  garden  (broccoli, peppers, cherry tomatoes right now).  Apartment was formerly City licensed bed and breakfast operation, but owner found that short term rentals, destroys owner's quality of life.   Crime camera is out front, and  security system is provided for apartment.  Hurricane shutters, and state of the art corrugated tin roof gives added protection, and the 6,000 watt  backup generator guarantees  the lights won't go out during Hurricane Season.
  This is not a party house..
 Linens, basic condiments, appliances, limited dishes and utensils  are provided along with cable TV and wireless internet access.   No maid service is provided,  but vacuum cleaner,  mop, broom and dust pan is provided for you to keep your apartment clean during your stay.  After two weeks your dirty laundry can be given to owner to accomplish no frills laundry washing and machine drying, and you will be issued clean bed linens along with towels, etc. as needed.
Email owner at vwesterman@cox.net or at box provided in this page  with questions or upon  requesting monthly rental, owner will hold reservation for 4 days, until personal check covering reservation/security deposit of $500.00  is received and processed.  Please provide your telephone number and other pertinent address information along with check, and owner will call and/or  email tenant confirming reservation.  Upon arrival, tenant will be required to pay the monthly rental of $1,500.00 by personal check, and must sign a  standard monthly rental lease, which is required by my insurance company.  The $500.00 reservation/security deposit will be refunded to tenant, as appropriate, 10 days after tenant's departure . Full reservation/security $500.00  deposit refund is provided if cancellation is made in writing 30 days prior to confirmed reservation. 
Other special  holidays include JazzFest, French Quarter Fest, St. Patrick's Day, Bayou Classic, Essence Fest, Voo Doo Fest, Sugar Bowl,  and Christmas.
