Duke's story
So, this is Duke...
My foster family found me running down Jefferson Highway. When they pulled over, I ran right up to them. I am super friendly (and I was really hungry, too).
I had no trouble fitting in with the other 3 dogs at their house. I did get nipped at for sticking my face in their food bowls (did I mention I was really hungry?). I am better about that now. I have learned to sit and wait politely when its dinner or snack time.
I have met lots of neighborhood dogs and play in the neighbors yard with their Labradoodle. I love my walks, I am really good on leash and I am friendly to everyone I meet.
I love to play with my 8 and 10 year old foster girls. The younger one picks me up a lot, but Im okay with that. I sit in her bed and she reads to me. We also sit on the couch to watch cartoons. Sitting is kind of my thing. I am pretty laid back.
My foster mom says I am really smart. She says I am the best puppy she has ever had. She says if they lived in the country, she would never let me go. I dont know what that means.
Dont get me wrong, I am still a puppy. I am mostly house broken, but there are still accidents (I dont think my foster family is getting my pee-pee signals every time). Which reminds me- I dont bark. I think thats another reason they love me around here. I am still learning about playing with my mouth and jumping up. I just dont understand how sensitive humans are. Wheres your fur?!
Well, thats me. I am really looking forward to having my own forever family. I hope to find them soon so they can start enjoying the snuggles ASAP. I have been told I am a great little space heater on cold nights (I dont know what that means, either).
If you wanna meet me, just follow the instructions on the website. I love meeting new people!
