Chow Chow - Mama Ginger - Large - Senior - Female - Dog
Mama Ginger is a stunning chow with a big fluffy tail who has been going into foster. Sweet and shy she is housebroken and gets along with other dogs. She loves walks and rolling in the grass. What a long way she has come. Now she is ready for a forever home! Mama Ginger the shy chow ARNO rescue's adventures continue. She has been going to adoption days where people wanted to touch her, but then she realized people can be trained to scrunch your ears. She even followed a lady seeming to say, "Hey come back and rub my ears some more." Super shy at first she warms up on a walk but also with a good treat. Mama Ginger or Mama Lou as she is called is a survivor! She was rescued by ARNO when a young woman came begging for help. Mama's owner had left her behind when they moved and for years she lived in the yard of the abandoned house roaming the streets trying to survive. She ate rocks to fill her empty stomach so her teeth are worn down. The neighbor started feeding her and then work was being done in the house and Mama and her adult daughter where in danger of being taken to a high-kill shelter. Shy dogs would not have a chance there and we knew it. So Mama was trapped with some good canned food and a little pomeranian, She thought the pom was her puppy!. She adores little dogs. She thinks they are puppies! She came to ARNO where she was socialized for a year. Her daughter was adopted but Mama needed to be in a home, her next step in socializion. Mama is not good with cats, but she is very good in a home. The moment she came to her foster home she ran up the stairs and jumped on the bed. She is housebroken and very good in a home. She has been in two foster homes this year. She spent a couple of weeks with Brandon and his family. Here he is reading her stories as she listens quietly. She loves to be brushed. She also carries her little toys up onto her loveseat and lines them up one by one as if to say are these really mine. She is like a little orphan finally in a home. Unfortunately the foster has a cat and has to keep them separate.
Mama Ginger or Mama Lou's as she is called (the shy chow/Golden mix that ARNO rescued) and her adventures continue. She loves to walk and trots along like a show dog- show dog! Show me good food! Cheese Pizza, Chicken, steak. I don t beg but like LiseMc says Mama might be shy but she ain't stupid! Truer words were never said! She sleeps near her foster mom and comes for her ear rub every morning and then rubs her whole face n her foster mommy's tummy!! What a sweet and shy dog. Very easy to walk and is good in the car!! It took months for her to get to that point but once she loves and is attached it is incredible and worth the wait.
Mama Lou went into a foster home while her foster was out of town! She was very bonded to the Dad. She slept with the 12 year old son! They had a very laid back dog close to her size who was ok in Mama's book. but they were also fostering a little dog! Mama adores little dogs. She thinks they are babies! She followed the little chihuahua Lulu everywhere. She went for a ride in the car to get a hamburger with Lulu and Brandon. ARNO is looking for a foster or a forever home. Please no cats and mama must be inside as she can climb like a cat! She is afraid of storms and comes to hide by her foster mom and dad. If you can help this true ARNO rescue please contact Ginnie at [email removed]. The adoption fee is $150 and includes shots, spay and a chip. Mama is a good and faithful girl.
