Fire & Gas Suppression Lead Tech in New Orleans, Louisiana

Position Summary:
The Fire & Gas Suppression Lead provides safety leadership and technical direction to F&G crews for construction, repair and campaign maintenance jobs.
Work closely with foreman, multiple craft crews and F&G engineers and designers.
Job scope includes but is not limited to F&G O&M IFC package jobs, annual fire hose campaigns, ACT major F&G repairs, PRIDE oversight and other non PM F&G related work.
Ensure that procedures are established and followed, and that safe work standards are understood and practiced.
Provide Effective safety leadership to assigned teams
Promote safe work practices and implement company and client safety policies for work crew, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation
Provide supervision and or direction to multiple crews.
Examine work and material for regulatory compliance and accurate specifications. Read and understand IFA and IFC work packages.
Be proficient at making and reading redline drawings.
Assure project compliance with specifications and standards.
Including verifying MOC compliance, appropriate QC, FCO, and thorough, accurate red line drawings as needed.
Assure effective and accurate IFC package turnover.
Regularly communicate expectations to crew with respect to safety, procedures, work execution and efficiency.
Direct interface with the client.
Make certain that all incidents are promptly reported
Audit SETA cards; perform shop, field and vehicle inspections

Qualifications:
High School/GED required
5+ years experience in fire suppression systems, inspecting and maintenance required
2+ years of construction or industrial facility maintenance required and/or an associated degree in a related field (i.e. Fire Science, Fire Protection Technology). required
Two (2) years supervisory experience required, with ability to lead, supervise and direct skilled craft workers required
Knowledge and thorough understanding of Fire Alarm and Suppression system installation, maintenance and testing.
Ability to use tools and equipment applicable to Fire and Gas related work
Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, vendor data, and technical data sheets, etc.
Able to demonstrate general knowledge of:
NFPA Standards, and OSHA safe work practices associated with safety systems
The functional operations, maintenance, and adjustment of the various components of fire and gas detection systems such as fire detection devices, smoke detection devices, gas detection devices, notification appliances, fire and gas control logic.
Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and CMMS.
Well versed in general operations and safety practices and policies, as well as specific knowledge of procedures and standards applicable to the Fire and Gas craft technical and safety policies.
Advanced knowledge and ability to troubleshoot fire and gas suppression systems
Ability to interpret P & ID
Advanced leadership skills
Valid drivers license including ability to be insured by auto insurer required.
Petrochemical, oilfield or arctic experience preferred
